The goalkeeper Was rarely tested to perform during the opening 45 but then tested from Arbër Hoxha’s curled attempt. One well-timed sliding challenge against an Albanian attacker highlighted sharp reading of the game. 6/10

Nico O’Reilly A further confident display by the rising star after his initial appearance against another side. Saka did not capitalize on the opportunity from a gorgeous flick behind the opposing backline. The left-back spot is his to lose at this stage. 7/10

Adam Wharton His maiden beginning for his country. Somewhat loose in possession however his dangerous corners were a threat. A handy pace-controller available to the boss to call upon against sides that sit back. Shown a yellow for a poorly timed challenge. Six

The midfielder Set-pieces from dead balls and set-plays created chances. Had freedom to roam in left midfield only to be offside upon receiving in front of goal. Granted a merited break on the hour mark. 6/10

Jude Bellingham Operated in a forward role out wide while also did plenty of defensive duties. Demonstrated moments of class and dragged an attempt high. Withdrawn towards the end for a teammate, a fellow player, after being booked. 7/10

The winger Had the team's top opening of the first half, his strike smartly stopped from the Albanian keeper. With Quansah hanging back, it fell to him to stretch the play out wide yet his deliveries from wide areas were inconsistent. Substituted late in the match. 6/10

The captain The match-winner with his 77th and 78th strikes for his country. His first a typical poacher’s finish while the second a classy finish with his head after peeling away from his marker. At 32, his form is unwavering and the side stand a real opportunity next summer with him up top. 8

Eberechi Eze Found it tough to influence play on the left flank. Was presented with a good opening when set up by Bellingham but Strakosha kept it out. Rashford made much more of effect after coming on. 5/10
